Good to Great: 2006 - 2010 Strategic Business Plan

In 2005, the Club invited a wide range of stakeholders to an interactive business plan workshop. The purpose was to collectively discuss the Club's objectives for the period 2006 – 2010.

Management put forward the view that the Club was currently a "good club", and throughout discussions the following question was often put to the group "what does the Club need to achieve to become a "great club"? Stakeholders largely comprised directors, staff and players from the Club, a selection of sponsors, and government and AFL representatives.

Following the workshop, management has developed a total of 28 objectives and grouped them into four core areas or "pillars" as follows:

four core pillars

The 28 objectives are distributed between all four KPIs. We believe that achieving these objectives gives the Club the best possible opportunity of achieving the four core KPIs in its transition from being a "good club" to a "great club".

Our 2006 – 2010 strategies are all built around achieving these four pillars or core KPIs, and the 28 objectives.
