Work Placement Program

About the Program

The Geelong Cats Work placement program enables senior undergraduate and postgraduate students from Australian Universities to undertake unpaid placements in the club. Students will participate in a program that provides mutually beneficial outcomes and where possible, to suit their specific interests and career goals. Unfortunately Geelong Cats is unable to provide work experience placements to High School students.

Who is eligible?

Students should have completed a minimum of 12 months of a relevant undergraduate degree or be completing post graduate studies, and be considering a career in sports management, marketing, events management, coaching, sports science or other related areas.

When are the placements, and for how long?

Successful candidates will be able to negotiate with the club to conduct their placement at a mutually convenient time. Placements are usually undertaken on a full time basis or on a regular part time arrangement. Work placements are usually between 30 and 180 hours in duration, but this is flexible around degree requirements, student preferences and other requirements.

How many placements will be available?

We anticipate that up to 4 placements will be offered each year, but this number will depend on the clubs requirements. Applications will be considered in March (applications close 1 December) and August (applications close 1 May) each year with up to 2 placements offered at each time.

How can I apply?
