One of Geelong's most loyal players. The tall, relatively lean ruckman took a backseat to John Newman and Ian Hampshire for a number of seasons. He blossomed as a top VFL player in 1980. His marking, which had not been reliable previously, became one of his strengths. He always had the ability to punch the ball forward up to 40 metres from ruck situations. His courage could never be questioned, always giving 100 percent effort.
