Six Geelong Cats players swapped the grass of Skilled Stadium for the warm waters off Lorne as they competed in the nib Pier to Pub Swim on Saturday.
Tom Harley, Cameron Ling, David Wojcinski, David Johnson, Joel Selwood and Simon Hogan all participated in the 1.2km swim as apart of their pre-season training regime as well as conducting an autograph signing session for fans.
Wojcinski showed his immense speed was not limited to land as he powered through the water to finish in a time of 18 minutes and 14 seconds.
Harley, who entered the 18-30 year old “Open” section rather than the “Senior” section he was qualified for, was the next Cat to cross the line in 20 minutes and 16 seconds.
Joel Selwood (21:03), Cameron Ling (22:05), Simon Hogan (22:29) and David Johnson (31:15) rounded out the Cats contingent.
The Cats resumed training on January 5th ahead of their NAB Cup encounter with Adelaide at Skilled Stadium on February 21.
